PDFing runs
on a Microsoft®
Windows
PC and receives
spooled-files
sent to it by standard
OS/400
and i5/OS commands. These spooled-files are converted to
PDF
and other file formats, including
MS Excel.
PDF files produced by PDFing may be
saved
to specified storage-locations,
printed
or sent as email attachments to selected recipients.
The output PDF may be enhanced by applying
graphic images
, applying the
page(s) of
other PDF files and changing f
ont
sizes. Spooled-files may also be
split or "burst"
into
a series of separate PDF files each with different destination address.
PDFing complies with the
following IBM standards:
i5/OS and OS400 version
3.1 or later,
*SCS,
*AFPDS and
*USERASCII
spooled-files,
the Internet standard
LPR/LPD
for
receiving spooled-files,
the Internet standard
SMTP
for
sending email
and the PDF specification from
Adobe®.
PDFing can be a server for any (reasonable) number of concurrent OS400
jobs
on any number of AS400 or iSeries machines.
PDFing is supported by
PDFing on all editions of Windows 10.
